What is your AC doing?
Pick the closest symptom — it goes straight to our dispatcher so the tech arrives with the right parts on the truck.
The faults we fix most often
Most no-cool calls come down to one of these. Our trucks carry the common parts, so the majority of these are repaired on the first visit.
Refrigerant leak
Warm air · ice on lines · hissingLow refrigerant almost always means a leak — topping it up without finding the leak just delays the same call next month.
How we fix it: Electronic leak detection, repair the leak at source, then recharge to manufacturer spec and verify superheat.Frozen evaporator coil
Ice on indoor unit · no coolingUsually caused by restricted airflow (dirty filter or blocked return) or low refrigerant. The ice is a symptom, not the fault.
How we fix it: Controlled thaw, then diagnose the underlying airflow or charge problem so it doesn't refreeze.Failed capacitor or contactor
Humming · fan won't startOne of the most common failures, and one of the least expensive. If your outdoor unit hums but nothing spins, this is often why.
How we fix it: Test under load, replace the failed component with an OEM-spec part, and check what caused it to fail.Blower motor failure
No air from vents at allThe outdoor unit may be running perfectly while the indoor blower has failed — so the cold never reaches your rooms.
How we fix it: Test motor, capacitor and control board, then replace the failed part rather than the whole assembly where possible.Clogged condensate drain
Water near indoor unit · system shuts offAlgae blocks the drain, the safety float switch trips, and the system shuts itself down to avoid water damage.
How we fix it: Clear and flush the line, test the float switch, and treat the pan to slow it recurring.Thermostat or control fault
Short cycling · won't respondSometimes the AC is fine and the thermostat is lying to it — miscalibrated, badly located, or wired incorrectly after a swap.
How we fix it: Verify calibration and wiring, relocate if it's in a bad spot, replace or upgrade if needed.
AC repair or replace? What to consider
Our technicians work on salary, not commission — so there is no incentive here to talk you into a new system. Here's the framework we actually use.
The rule of thumb: if the repair costs more than half of what a new system would run, replacement usually makes better financial sense. We'll tell you which side of that line you're on before you decide.
Repair usually makes sense when…
- The system is under 10–12 years old
- This is the first failure in several seasons
- The fault is a capacitor, contactor, motor or drain
- Energy bills have been stable
- The repair is well under half a replacement cost
Replacement is worth pricing when…
- The system is 15+ years old
- It's the second or third repair this season
- The compressor has failed
- It still runs on R-22 refrigerant — now expensive and being phased out
- Cooling bills have climbed year over year
If replacement is the better call, ask about 0% APR financing — and most breakdowns are preventable, so it's worth reading our AC Maintenance page too.

You have questions, we have answers
How quickly can you get to me for an AC repair?
Standard service calls are typically scheduled same-day or next-day depending on availability.* No-cool calls are prioritised as quickly as possible, and we run across both counties during the cooling season.
Do you charge more for evenings, weekends or holidays?
No. Our flat-rate price is the same at 2pm on a Tuesday as it is at 11pm on a Sunday. There is no overtime or holiday surcharge.
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. We diagnose first, then hand you flat-rate options in writing. Nothing is done until you approve the number, and the invoice matches the quote.
Is it better to repair or replace my air conditioner?
If the repair costs more than half of a replacement, replacement usually wins — but age, refrigerant type and repair frequency all matter. See the repair-or-replace section above, and our technician will give you a straight recommendation either way.
My AC is frozen solid. What should I do right now?
Switch the system to "fan only" (not cool) and leave it running — that thaws the coil without the heat gun heroics. Check your filter while you wait. Then call us, because ice is a symptom of something else and it will come back.
Do you repair all brands?
Yes — Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Bryant, Goodman, Mitsubishi, Rheem, Ruud, American Standard, York and more.
Can I finance a repair, not just a replacement?
Yes. Financing is available on qualifying repairs as well as replacements, with approval usually taking a couple of minutes at your kitchen table.
